Horace Mann Elementary

Horace Mann has long been a part of the education of Bakersfield's children. The school is the oldest campus in the Bakersfield City School District and is located on an 11 acre site in Northeast Bakersfield. With a commitment to excellence, the staff continues to provide scholastic opportunities for the 884 students enrolled in grades k - 5 and one Special Education class. We also have a Pre Kindergarten program with morning and afternoon programs for 48 students.

Our mission is to provide an environment in which all students will develop a positive self image, maintain high academic achievement to his or her highest potential and become prepared for a technological future. we believe that all students can experience success through the efforts of teachers, parents and the community, thus creating the foundation for successful, independent, productive individuals who have respect for others and the world in which they live.
