As principal at Horace Mann, I look forward to working with the staff, community and parents to provide our students with the finest education possible. Horace Mann has a long standing tradition of providing quality education to all students. We have implemented many educational programs designed for specific student needs. But our school is one link in the child's education chain. Here are some ways you can help your child:

• Make sure your children get plenty of rest.
• Develop a morning routine so they arrive at school on time and ready to begin the day.
• Set aside a study time and assist with homework.
• Help your child develop a positive attitude about school.
• Help your child develop good study habits.
• show an interest in you children's learning and help make school a place where children want to go.
• Help your children develop respect for those who lead and teach them.
• Visit your children's classroom so you can observe what education is taking place.
• Volunteer to help at school.
